“The Earth’s ecology is seriously under threat as a result of humanity being out of time and out of balance with nature. By paying attention to the Moon we can begin to learn about the rhythms and forces that have shaped our past and will determine our future. We can reconnect with a slower cyclical notion of time more in keeping with ourselves and our natural environment.”
What a COOL project.

Etiquette is older than law and even now divides the realm of regulating behavior with the legal system. There are a lot of problems with that these days because people keep trying to turn over matters of etiquette to the legal system, which doesn’t handle them very well.
That gets my vote as golden quote of the year. Full interview is here titled, Civility in a Democracy.

We trundled up to Ashe County this weekend, celebrating our first anniversary of being married. Took the pooches and introduced them to our property, on which they happily peed. It is now officially pooch endorsed. Eventually we’ll thin out the 3″ diameter guys across the whole lot, and we’ll take a few more out to the left of the big guy near the center of the pic at right. Behind it is Mt. Jefferson. We hadn’t been up since we closed in July. Pics below include the entrance, lle + pooches.

And some pics from mw’s place, 30 minutes outside of town and our lot.

Home. Watching football and baseball. Drinking beer and wine and loving autumn. Our 1 year anniversary is in 10 days.
And I have 1 drawing done of 2 for Ames. She gets the one and only originals when I’m done.

Some shots from Niagra Falls last July. I’m ridiculously excited on the phone with lle. Sitting next to me is a colleague who trained in Toronto with me.
